Hurricane watch

Katrina, the 11th named storm of the season. The second that almost hit Pensacola in the short 3 months that we’ve stayed here. It badly slammed New Orleans and Mississippi but we also had our share of falling sky, pouring rain and high gusty winds (approx. 85 mph) The hurricane they say is swelled to be roughly the size of Florida. Pretty big and nasty. And sure it was. At 5pm we decided to drive around town to see what little damageit caused the area. There are a number of broken branches, trees uprooted and low areas that are flooded. Oh yeah traffic signals out of line, too. The wind’s still strong out there that it almost blew my head off of my shoulder. So it wasn’t a good, safe day to be outdoor just yet. But you know how people get so curious and wanderlust sometimes just to get what they wanted. Ours? - a few pictures after the storm,
The power went out for almost the whole day but we are prepared for that. Rain did not let out until early evening, as a matter of fact it is still drizzling outside but we had our electricity back on. Thank goodness! (Just a split-second after we finished grilling in the rain and groping in the dark kitchen.) This monstrous storm didnt deprive us of having a hearty good meal - BBQ ribs and super asim na sinigang na buto-buto. Told you, we are so prepared for this. Though I was starting to panic cause I didn’t expect for the power to be out for so long that I even had to take the ice cream out of the freezer cause it has started to melt, it still good though, meron kaming super rocky road milk shake instead.
But now that everything is back to normal, I’d like to be excused to enjoy a cup of hot french vanilla coffee.
<p>Will post pictures later. promise…
